Implant Dentist - Dr. Todd SawischTodd Sawisch, D.D.S., was born and spent the majority of his life in Howell, Michigan. Dr. Sawisch completed his undergraduate training and earned a Bachelor of Science at Michigan State University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Dentistry. He completed a surgical residency program in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Miami School of Medicine’s prestigious Jackson Memorial Hospital.

During his residency, Dr. Sawisch spent four vigorous years with world-renowned surgeons in the specialty of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery: Dr. Robert Marx, Dr. Stuart Kline, and Dr. Eric Carlson. The training Dr. Sawisch received focused on head and neck cancer, tumor surgery, and reconstruction of severe facial deformities secondary to disease and facial trauma. Dr. Sawisch has extensive training in implant dentistry using platelet-rich plasma (PRP) with advanced bone grafting procedures to aid in dental implant reconstruction. Dr. Sawisch was awarded the “Outstanding Surgical Skills Award” by the surgical faculty upon graduation.

After his residency, Dr. Sawisch completed a fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery at the Willow Bend Cosmetic Surgery Center in Plano, Texas under the direction of Dr. Stephen Watson. Dr. Sawisch and Dr. Watson published an article on cosmetic ablative skin resurfacing and developed several techniques in advanced facial rejuvenation. Dr. Watson has lectured around the country on advanced facial rejuvenation surgery. He has contributed to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery by extending his knowledge and experience yearly in surgical courses to educate surgeons all over the world. Dr. Sawisch holds a faculty position for future surgical courses presented by Dr. Watson in conjunction with the Academy.

Dr. Todd Sawisch is an active member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. He is currently licensed to practice in the states of Florida and Texas. He holds privileges to operate and covers emergency call at Holy Cross Hospital and Imperial Point Hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Sawisch is Voluntary Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami, School of Medicine, teaching the latest techniques in facial cosmetic surgery to the surgery residents.

Dr. Sawisch is board certified, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also belongs to the prestigious Chalmers J. Lyons Academy of Oral Surgery and holds diplomate status in the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology. He also served as president of the Fort Lauderdale Dental Study Club for 2005-2006.

Dr. Sawisch provides courses in cooperation with DEKA Lasers on various Laser and Pulsed Light applications at the DEKA National Training Center adjoining South Florida Oral & Facial Cosmetic Surgery, Dental Implant Center.
