Wisdom Teeth and Stem Cell Preservation
The medical miracles from stem cells are within your wisdom teeth.
Stem cells are located in the pulp of healthy teeth, and can be recovered easily at the time of a planned wisdom tooth surgery. Recently, researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) discovered that stem cells are found in both baby teeth and wisdom teeth, providing a new, convenient source of stem cells. Instead of discarding your children's teeth after third molar, wisdom tooth, extraction, your surgeon can ship them to a cryogenic laboratory, where the tissue containing stem cells will be isolated and frozen in liquid nitrogen on your behalf. Your stem cells will be preserved for many years. Ready, when you need them.
